CREWE MIDFIELDER LINKED WITH CARDIFF CITY

Welsh football giants Cardiff City are expected to be busy in the transfer window this summer with a lot of incomings and outgoings expected at the English Championship outfit. Cardiff City have already struck early with the signing of experienced Republic of Ireland international James Collins and they have also been linked with a move for Crewe Alexandra midfielder Ryan Wintle this summer.

Wintle, 23, will be a free agent in the coming weeks as his contract with League One club Crewe Alexandra runs out this summer. He has been strongly linked with a move to the English Championship with Cardiff City as confirmed by media portal Football Insider. It was revealed that the player has already rejected the offer to sign an extension with Crewe. To this effect, his future at the club is in serious doubts.

Crewe Alexandra will almost certainly lose the services of the defensive midfielder who’s courting interest from teams in both League One and English Championship. Cardiff City are one of the English Championship teams eyeing a free transfer move for the player ahead of the new season.

Wintle was a major performer for Crewe Alexandra as he helped the club to secure their place in the third tier of club football in England with several games to play. Crewe Alexandra were able to finish in the top half of the just concluded League One season. The club finished in 12thspot at the end of the regular season in League One.

The young Crewe Alexandra proved to be an important player for his team during the just concluded season netting two goals and two assists in 43 games in League One. He was a regular in the first half in addition to the fact that the player had one of the most minutes in the league amongst the Crewe Alexandra players.
