Steven Davis has challenged his wingers
Crewe Alexandra manager Steven Davis has challenged his wingers to prove that they can accommodate into the current system at the club.
After failing to get results with the 4-3-3 system in the first half of the season, Crewe Alexandra have been in setting from the switch to 3-5-2 formation. Initially, this switch was largely forced due to the injury situation. Since the club has found itself extremely comfortable playing in this way, Davies has retained this formation for the last few months. It has continued even after the return of first-team players likeRyan Colclough.
After missing most of the campaign due to injury,Ryan Colclough has just returned to training and he is expected to compete for a first-team spot. It would be easier said than done since other players have managed to take his place in the time he has spent on the sidelines. Davies has confirmed that he does not plan to return to the 4-3-3 formation since it has not worked for the club. Instead, he says that the current formation is set to stay and it will be after the players to change their game according to it.
