Crewe Alexandra has strengthened their squad by signing Watford’s Uche Ikpeazu on a loan deal. The 18 years old player has already scored over 25 goals in the youth academy that he was developed back in Reading. Ikpeazu still has not been featured in the main squad of Watford and will have to wait for a few more months before getting the chance to play with the main stars of Watford as he will be out on loan to Crewe Alexandra hoping to get them out of the bottom spots of the league.

The head coach of Crewe, Steve Davis stated that he is trying to bring back the forward Mesca and the goalkeeper Neil Etheridge on a loan deal from Fulham.

“We have a number of players we are considering and the Fulham pair fall into that category. Neil gave us a real presence in goal when he was here and it would be good to have him back if we could. And things are on-going with Mesca. A move for him is still under consideration and we haven’t ruled that out.”

Mathias Pogba came back from his injury on the right knee as he was being featured for the last 10 minutes of Crewe Alexandra’s match against Rotherham United and even though he failed to make any kind of significant impact, Steve Davies believes that his return from injury can help spark Crewe’s battle against relegation.

“Pogs coming back has given everyone a real lift and we introduced him late on to see if we could inspire a late comeback,”

“He has been out for six months and we have missed him, but his coming back has given us a boost. It was just nice to give him some game time. It will take a while to get match fit because he has missed a lot of football, but he still has time to play a major part in our season.” Davies stated.
