TURN IT AROUND

The manager of Crewe Alexandra, Steve Davis, is hoping that things turn around for his team in the next game against Port Vale which is going to be played this Saturday.

Alexandra’s performance in their last 6 games has been very poor. They have just managed to secure a couple of points from those games and they are at the 22nd position in the League One points table at the moment.

In total, Alexandra has played 19 games in the ongoing League One so far and they have won just 4 out of them. In 11 games, they have suffered defeats, while, in the remaining 4 games, they have shared points.

Talking to the reporters yesterday, Davis said, “Sometimes, the derby matches turn things around for you and I hope it’s the case with us. We put up a disappointing performance against Wycombe the other day, but, we need to forget that. There will be a lot at stake in the game against Port Vale and we will have to be our best in that game.”

“We have disappointed our fans on quite a few occasions this season. Now, it’s time to give them a bit of joy and there is no bigger occasion than derby to do that.”

When asked if the players are hugely gutted by that FA cup defeat a couple of days back, Davis said, “Yes they are and that’s obvious. When you lose such a big game, you have got to be disappointed. But, we can’t do anything about that now. It has gone. So, we should just focus on the upcoming derby.”

Crewe Alexandra had taken on Wycombe Wanderers in a FA Cup 1st round game at Alexandra Stadium on Saturday and had suffered a 1-2 defeat.
