NO WORRIES
The Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davies has said that he has no worries about remaining with his current club amid speculation linking him with a move to Burnley, who are currently without a manager. Steve Davis has played for Burnley during his playing days, but he has played down any suggestion of moving to Turf Moor anytime in the future. He has been recently offered a new 18 month deal by the club, but he is yet to sign the contract. This has resulted in speculation of a moving to Burnley increasing over the last few days.
Steve Davis, though, has said that he is about to sign a new contract and has so far not done so due to the minor details. He expects them to be sorted in the coming days and an announcement will be made regarding the extension. Crewe Alexandra were extremely close to being relegated from the football league, but he managed to get them into the league one following promotion through play-offs. Even though they are currently only in the 18th position in the league one table this season, Burnley see him as one of the best upcoming managers in the division.
“We’re not far away. There’s one or two minor things that need sorting out. I’m happy here and I would like to remain here. I hope we can sit down before my anniversary and sort it out, that would be ideal. I’ve always stated that I wanted to stay and have never wavered from that or had another thought other than continuing the job I’m doing. I want to stay and push this club as far as I can,” said Steve Davis in response to the speculation linking him with a move to Burnley. Alexandra will be facing Yeovil town in the next match.
