Crewe Alexandra striker Mikael Mandron is closing in on an exit from the club after he rejected a new deal. The 27-year-old is expected to leave Crewe Alexandra this summer after turning down the offer to sign a new contract. The attacker is ready to end his two-year association with Crewe Alexandra who were relegated from English League One this season. To this effect, their league campaign would be in English League Two next season. The target for Crewe would be to return to League One at the first time of asking.

Mandron was the joint topscorer for Crewe Alexandra during the just concluded season with ten goals in all competitions. He finished as the joint topscorer for Crewe during the 2021/22 season despite missing two months of action this year due to injury. He was injured in February and the attacker didn’t make his return until last month. Mandron missed several Crewe Alexandra games over the course of the two months due to a knee injury. He might have scored more goals for Crewe Alexandra during the recently concluded season if he didn’t miss a lot of games this year.

He has a few weeks left on his Crewe Alexandra contract at the moment. Crewe assistant manager Lee Bells recently said that everyone connected would like Mandron to turn around and sign a two-year extension.

Apart from Mandron, players such as released Travis Johnson, Will Jaaskelainenand Luke Murphy will also leave Crewe Alexandra on a free transfer this summer. Others such as Chris Porter, TyreeceOnyeka, Joe Robbins, Sam Booth, Scott Kashket and Nathan Woodthorpe will also leave Crewe Alexandra at the end of this respective contracts this summer.
