CREWE ALEXANDRAEND POOR RUN

Crewe Alexandra have ended their recent poor run of results following the 4-2 win over Swindon Town in a matchday 15 clash in League One, the third tier of league football in England. Crewe Alexandra edged the six-goal thriller with Swindon Town at home on Tuesday night. Until the match with Swindon Town at Gresty Road, Crewe Alexandra had lost their last three games in all competitions.


The League One club Crewe Alexandra had won the last two games before the recent run of three successive defeats. The run of defeats started with the 4-1 loss at Portsmouth in the league before making it two consecutive defeats with the 1-0 loss at Accrington Stanley. The third defeat in quick succession came during the FA Cup second roundclashat League Two club Cheltenham Town who are second in their division. Crewe Alexandra were beaten 2-1 at hosts Cheltenham Town as they were knocked out of the competition. Cheltenham Town will host Mansfield Town in the third round of the FA Cup.

Crewe Alexandra were able to bounce back from three successive league defeats with the home win over Swindon Town. They had to come from two goals down to return to winning ways. The visitors took a two-goal lead courtesy goals from midfielder Anthony Smith and striker Tyler Smith. Daniel Powell pulled one back for Crewe Alexandrato hand the hosts a lifeline. That goal proved to be crucial as Crewe Alexandra went on to score three second half goals to win the game.

English right-back Perry Ngscored the equaliser on 54 minutes before midfielder Tom Lowery added a third goal for Crewe Alexandra nine minutes later. Young forward Owen Dale wrapped up the points for the hosts with the fourth goal towards the midway point of the second half to take his team to the top half of the table in League One.
